Top-seeded Bloomfield showed great serves in a stunning second set, served to win the match at 5-4 and thereby already seemed to advance to second round. Goodall stroke back, scored the re-break and forced both players to go into the tie-break. Bloomfield acted more clever by taking his first-chance small break to win 7-4 in second set tie-break and deciding the match by an ace.
